The Portland Upside - A Newspaper Highlighting the Positive News of Portland
FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions
Is the publication online or in-print?
Both. We will have free printed copies distributed around town, as well as a free online version in pdf format, and we are starting to put articles on the articles page.
Why did you create a newspaper with only positive news?
We were tired of being inundated with negative news. News media often focuses on the worst 1% of human behavior, leaving us with a distorted picture of our community. We are here to give the other 99% a voice, the everyday positive stories of life. Good news inspires, encourages, and builds a stronger and happier community, and that is our goal.
Who is the publisher?
The Portland Upside is a local, independent newspaper published by Sara and Rob Bednark, which we run out of our home in the Portland Metro area near Gresham.
What geographical area do you cover?
We will have articles from the Portland Metro area and surrounding communities, including Beaverton, Gresham, Wilsonville, Hillsboro, Vancouver, Milwaukie, Clackamas, Happy Valley, Aloha, and others.
